The MFW Short Film Market is the annual sub-event of Minikino Film Week. A facility for meetings, promoting and networking. The intention is to facilitating economic values of the short film by encouraging professional interaction in the short film production, distribution and dissemination.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SHORT FILM LIBRARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

SHORT FILM LIBRARY is a space equipped with laptops and an offline server, where all the films that was registered for the library are available private previewing. Short film in the library is off-line and copy protected, yet all information including professional contact of the film will be accessible to the user.

  • Anyone can register their short film to be screened with some rules;<\/li>\n
  • The representative of the short film must attend and get a max 3 minutes talk to present the film.<\/li>\n
  • The registration of film is on location and you have to bring the digital file of the film that is ready to screened, with specific technical regulation (h.264 & 1080p only)<\/li>\n
  • 1 director\/representative for 1 film only.<\/li>\n
  • Any kind of short film no longer that 20 mins. is welcome, no selection.<\/li>\n
  • Shorter duration will get screened earlier than the longer short.<\/li>\n
  • The event will only run for 2 hours max. The shorter your film will get bigger chance to get on the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Please beware that contents showing can be unpredictable and uncomfortable for minors.<\/p>\n

    Forum aims to expand the understanding of short film festival circuit and open up perspectives to help grasp the sustainability of short film as medium and ecosystem.

    While we are still trying to identify fake and pseudo film festivals, a new reality named covid-19 hits the world. The first of its kind, the situation forced short film festivals to rethink about its role and contribution as a communal, shared and unique experience they have been offering all this time. This session will give insights into why film festivals matter beyond 2020.<\/p>\n

Minikino Bali Artist Residency and Yamagata Documentary Dojo will be pairing up for a first-time exchange partnership to send filmmakers to each other\u2019s residency programs. Speaking live from Hijiori hot spring village hidden away in the mountains of northern Japan, Fujioka Asako will introduce the 4-week retreat for Asian filmmakers set for February 2021, when the hamlet will be engulfed in deep snow. Minikino\u2019s residency offers one Japan-based filmmaker a 4-week stay in Bali with the opportunity to take part in collaborative projects with locals. As a preview, we\u2019ll try to visit the pop-up cinema in Pedawa LIVE!<\/p>\n

    The pandemic has reminded us that sharing time and physical space with others is a luxury. Indeed, despite the efficiency of zoom meetings and social messaging, we know how valuable the physical connection is for us as humans. Artist-in-residence (AIR) programs offer an off-line experience of cross-cultural exchange and discovery which incubates the creative process, more important than ever for independent filmmakers today.<\/p>\n
