CALABAI AKAN TERUS MENARI

The journey of a transgender woman (Calabai) in tracing the footsteps of surviving Pajoge Angkong. It’s a folk entertainment dance performed by Calabai in the past and usually was performed to enliven the night market carried out by the order of the king, filling traditional events or crowds of people performed at night. A meeting with 2 Pajoge Angkong Puang Corra and Haji Bunga yielded many stories about their lives in the past.


 

About Programmer

Aulia Esa is a Film student at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Surakarta, with a strong interest in film programming and festival management. He has been actively involved in several microcinemas and film festivals across Java, including serving as part of the Programming Team for Sinema Akhir Tahun (2022–2024). In 2025, he expands his experience through an internship at Minikino and by developing a microcinema in his hometown, Probolinggo, East Java.
