The MFW Film Market brings together workshops, forums, and industry screenings to address the needs of the ecosystem, from production, and promotion, to distribution. Its ambitious program tries to promote the development of creativity, co-production, and the dissemination of works.

Imagine an open mic session but with an open screen.
Everybody can bring and register/sign-up their short film on site to be screened with the following regulations:
- No selection, only films with max. duration of 20 minutes
- Films will be screened in order, from shortest to longest.
- Only 1 film per director/representative.
- Representatives must attend to present their short film (in less than 3 minutes).
- Short film registration on location only. Be there 30 minutes before the event starts.
- A digital copy of the film must be provided and ready to screen. Only films using H.264 standard video compression and 1080p HD resolution will be accepted. No DCP or ProRes.
- The event will run for 90 minutes only. Shorter films are more likely to be screened.

The Begadang Filmmaking Competition is a national short film competition and has been a yearly Minikino Film Week pre-event since 2017. The competition challenges participants to produce and submit their short films to the festival in less than 34 hours while also challenging their creativity with some compulsory cinematic elements. This year, the following three compulsory elements were required to be used in the film:
- The last scene in the film should be the beginning of the story.
- A full color film (not black and white and/or monochrome), with one dominant color consistently used throughout the film, including sets, art, properties, title graphics and title credits.
- The soundtrack shall be composed of only sounds made from the body/human body. The participants shall be ready to provide evidence upon request.
Among this year’s 44 participants, only 32 “survived” to complete their production by the tough deadline. Here is the Official Selection, made of the top 10 films.

THE RWI ASIA PACIFIC AWARD AT MFW8
Three films produced in the Asia Pacific region will be selected by RWI representatives to receive The RWI Asia Pacific Award at MFW8. One main winner will receive Rp 15,000,000 cash prize and two secondary winners will each receive Rp7,500,000 cash prize.

Film Sarad is a cross-platform community for Balinese artists, especially filmmakers. The initial establishment of Film Sarad aimed to connect the networks between Balinese artists and artists outside Bali. Film Sarad realizes that there needs to be strong individual support and correlation in producing work.
Story Development For Radio Drama is a collaboration between Minikino & Film Sarad, as the beginning of a series of workshops dedicated to the blind community in Denpasar.

Collectively, representatives from the Mondiblanc Film Workshop (Nosa Normanda), Hore Besok Libur! (Winner Wijaya & Rayner Wijaya), and program director of Minikino (Fransiska Prihadi), will be ‘buddies of the day’ to talk about the three selected films. Yes, they will talk about short films while swimming (if the sea is calm) with the filmmakers.
At the end of the session, the selected filmmakers will have a new network and hopefully fresh ideas that will inspire them to complete and distribute their films.

Minikino berkolaborasi dengan Puri Kauhan Ubud, mengadakan serangkaian kegiatan kompetisi ide cerita dan pelatihan film yang menginspirasi alih medium ide cerita rakyat Bali dengan pesan ekologis dan pemuliaan air, menjadi bentuk film pendek.
Serangkaian program meliputi workshop bersama sutradara Garin Nugroho dan pelatihan pembuatan film pendek dilaksanakan secara bertahap pada bulan Agustus-Desember 2022.
Minikino collaborated with Puri Kauhan Ubud, and held a series of story idea competitions and film training that inspired the transfer of the medium of Balinese folklore ideas with ecological messages and water breeding, into short films.
A series of programs including workshops with director Garin Nugroho and training on making short films will be carried out in stages from August to December 2022.
