2025 YOUTH JURIES

The Minikino Film Week 11 Youth Jury Board is composed from last year’s Minikino Film Festival Writers Internship 2024.

Building on their last year experience and networking during their internship, the participants will further hone their acquired knowledge and insight as jury members. The Youth Jury Board will decide on one film to be the Youth Jury Award Winner 2025.

Minikino Film Week 11 proudly present the 2025 Youth Jury members:

CYNTHIA SYUKUR

Cynthia is in her final year of undergraduate student in International Relations at Parahyangan Catholic University. Her role as the coordinator for the Film and Literature Analytical division in a student-run International Relations think tank, combined with her internship as a Film Festival Writer for Minikino Film Week(MFW 10), has deepened her understanding of film as a powerful public diplomacy tool. To further develop her expertise in film analysis, she had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester at the University of Waterloo, Canada, where she took a course on World Cinema and Visual Culture. During this time, she also contributed to HER Campus Magazine, a publication by and for women, writing an article on Asian cinema—her area of interest in films. Currently, she is writing her thesis on public diplomacy in film festivals, focusing on the role of non-governmental organizations in Indonesia.

ELVATARA KHALISHAH

Tara is a Cinema Studies student at the Jakarta Institute of Arts. The focus of her academic and creative work is film analysis and production. In addition, Tara is involved in social movements focused on sexual violence and gender equality.

During her three years at the College, she gained a solid grounding in film theory and criticism, particularly in academic film writing. During her studies, she met numerous lecturers who were experts in their field, providing invaluable guidance and support, and fostering her development as a film student. As well as writing, he became involved in filmmaking. His latest film, Tanda Tangan Sang Bapak (2023), has been screened and awarded at various events.

FAIZA

Faiza is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Communication Science at Airlangga University, Surabaya. She has a strong interest in media studies, music, and film criticism. Actively engaged in the local film scene, she also contributes to alternative media as a writer. Recently, she worked as a scriptwriter for a film produced by Geda Pictures, a filmmaking collective she co-founded with her classmates. In addition to film criticism, her research explores how audiences—particularly youth—consume films in the era of disruptive technology. She believes that cinema plays a crucial role in shaping a participatory and inclusive public sphere.

GREGORIUS GABRIEL KOHAR

Recently returned to his home country after pursuing a film degree in South Korea, Greg currently works as a freelance filmmaker, participating in various film and media production, writing screenplays for short films and currently preparing to direct one.

His passion in moving pictures also extends to film criticism, using his free time to write film reviews and creating video essays on (temporarily hiatus) @Acinemalens YouTube Channel. He also served as a Cinephile Jury in Busan International Film Festival 2023 as well as Film Festival Writer Intern for Minikino Film Week 10. Hoping that it doesn’t stop there and could keep on contributing to the ecosystem through film related activities, deepening his understanding about the moving pictures and its relationship to art and society.
