INDONESIAN PRODUCER OPEN CALL

8th SHORT FILM MARKET

Minikino Film Week 12, Bali International Short Film Festival and Badan Perfilman Indonesia (BPI) are calling for Indonesian producers to join the 8th SHORT FILM MARKET (14-18 September 2026)

Registration is open exclusively for Indonesian filmmakers, starting Friday, 7 August 2026 and closing on Thursday, 20 August 2026 at 17:00 WITA.

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Indonesian Citizenship: Applicants must be Indonesian citizens with valid identification (KTP or Passport).
  • Age: Open to producers aged 25 years or older.
  • Portfolio Requirements: Must have produced a minimum of two (2) fiction short films OR one (1) documentary short film that has been screened at short film festivals in Indonesia and internationally (at least within Asia).
  • Commitment & Passion: Must be fully available and committed to participating in all mandatory activities, demonstrating a strong passion for short filmmaking, collaboration with new talents, and career development in the film industry.
  • Active Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively via email, as strong communication skills will be considered during the selection process.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: SHORTS UP prioritizes diversity and inclusion. We warmly welcome applicants from all social backgrounds, cultural heritages, and gender identities.

Opportunity & Selection Target: BPI is looking to support 2–3 (two to three) active Indonesian short film producers with a strong interest and commitment to short film production.

Key Dates & Mandatory Agenda Recommended Attendance Period: Monday, 14 September 2026 – Friday, 18 September 2026.


Mandatory Events & Deliverables:

  • Tuesday, 15 Sep 2026: Meet Industry Guests and Roast Your Shorts – Rough Cut Lensa Iklim Bali
  • Wednesday, 16 Sep 2026: Shorts Up 2026 Showcase
  • 1-on-1 Meetings: Conduct at least two (2) 1-on-1 sessions with selected production teams from the Shorts Up 2026 program.
  • Industry Events: Active participation in other industry sessions at the MFW12 Short Film Market.

Support Covered by BPI

  • Round-trip Flights: Economy airfare from origin city to Denpasar, Bali.
  • Accommodation: Provided during the official stay in Bali.
  • Daily Allowance / Honorarium: Per diem and/or additional stipend (subject to BPI regulations and standards).

Required Documents (Before Applying)

  1. Scanned ID (KTP or Passport).
  2. Headshot photos (clear with face visible).
  3. Preview link to at least two (2) completed short films, accompanied by metadata and a list of three (3) film festival screenings.

Announcement: Selected participants will be announced on Friday, 28 August 2026.
