Aurélian Michon akan berbagi cerita tentang atmosfer produksi, distribusi dan eksibisi film pendek di Perancis & Eropa serta peran negara dalam hal ini.

Aurélian Michon will share stories about the atmosphere of production, distribution and exhibition of short films in France & Europe, as well as the role of the state in this regard.

Aurelian Michon is in charge of film and audiovisual at Institut Francais Indonesia. He has previously been in charge of short film distribution at Sacrebleu Productions, an award-winning French film company, and a policy officer at CNC, French National Film Center.

 

	SEREM MELEK BERSAMA DREAD TEAM BALI

Melihat tingginya minat masyarakat tentang tema horor, masih sedikit yang mau menekuni genre horor secara khusus di Bali. Kecintaan DrEAD TEAM akan tema horor (padahal sebenarnya takut) membuat mereka yakin untuk bergelut khusus di tema horor. Tiga anggota DrEAD TEAM, Agung Yudha, Gung WS dan Eka Dirgantara akan berbagi pengalaman saat membuat film horor serta tips trik mengelola cerita yang ingin dijadikan film horor.

Despite public enthusiasm with horror theme, there are only few focusing solely to the horror genre especially in Bali. DrEAD TEAM passion for horror themes (even though they are actually afraid) ensure them to focus on horror. Three members of DrEAD TEAM, Agung Yudha, Gung WS dan Eka Dirgantara will share their experiences when making horror films and tips to turn horror stories into films.

 

	PAUL AGUSTA: LOCALITY IN CINEMA

Bagaimana kita menentukan film mana yang merupakan film “lokal” di dunia produksi bersama dan kolaborasi? Paul akan berbagi pendapat tentang bagaimana sinema melampaui batas lokalitas.

How would we determine which films are “local” films in the world of co-production and collaboration? Paul will share his two cents about how cinema transcend boundaries.

Paul Agusta is a writer, film producer, director and actor. With a film education background in America until 2003. Currently he is actively teaching various topics related to film. In the last two years he has also been part of the MFW Advisory Board.

 

	LIEW SENG TAT: WRITING MY FIRST FEATURE

Liew Seng Tat akan membagikan kenangan dan pengalamannya sendiri dalam menulis film fitur pertamanya setelah menulis dan membuat banyak film pendek.

Liew Seng Tat will share his own memories and experience of writing his first feature film after writing and directing many shorts.

Liew Seng Tat is a leading young Malaysian Director. Both of his first feature film “”Flower in the Pocket”” (2007) and “Lelaki Harapan Dunia” (2015) captured both national and international attention.

 

	KOYO YAMASHITA: EXPERIMENTAL FILM

Bagaimana film dan video eksperimental, entah itu naratif mau pun non-naratif, memberi inspirasi untuk pembuat film dan penonton. Koyo Yamashita akan berbagi tentang perjalanannya bersama Image Forum dan pengalamannya di bidang ini.

Why experimental film and videos, whether it be narrative or non-narrative, can be a powerful thing that inspire not just the filmmakers but also the audience? Koyo Yamashita will share with us the journey of Image Forum and his expertise in this field.

Koyo YAMASHITA is festival director of Image Forum Festival since 2001 and programmer of Theater Image Forum in Shibuya, Tokyo since 2005.

 

Q & A WITH PUTRI AYUDYA & LIEW SENG TAT

Dengan rumpun bahasa dan budaya yang serupa, industri film di Indonesia dan Malaysia berkembang secara berbeda. Putri dan Seng Tat akan saling bertanya satu sama lain tentang suka duka mencari nafkah dari seni film dan penonton bisa ikut bertanya mengenai pengalaman mereka.

With the same root of languages and cultures, the film industry in Indonesia and Malaysia develops differently. Putri and Seng Tat will have conversation about the ups and downs of making a living from film, and the audience can join the discussion.

 

	SERUNI AUDIO: LET’S TALK ABOUT AMBIENCE & SOUND RECORDING

Tim dari Seruni Audio akan bercerita dan merekam suara ambient bersama penonton dengan mikrofon clip-on buatan tangan yang awalnya dirancang untuk instrumen akustik dan dapat diterapkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pembuat film. SERUNIAUDIO menciptakan mikrofon clip-on handbuilt pertama untuk instrumen akustik yang pernah diproduksi oleh Indonesia.

Seruniaudio team will share how his hand-built clip-on microphone that originally designed for acoustic instruments can be applied to suit the need of filmmakers. SERUNIAUDIO built the first handbuilt clip-on microphone for acoustic instruments ever produced by Indonesian Company.

 

	TALKS WITH NIA DINATA

Kecintaan Nia Dinata terletak di pembuatan film dan segala aspek dibelakang layar. Kita akan mendengar lebih banyak kenapa Nia menaruh hatinya untuk menjadi produser film Indonesia.

Nia Dinata’s true passion is in film making and all of the aspects behind the scenes. We’ll hear more about why she love being an Indonesian film producer.

 

MODERATORS FOR MFW 4 TALKS

Marinta Serina Singarimbun had volunteered for Minikino Monthly Screening & Discussion since 2002 and often become the discussion moderator. In 2017, she launched her 15 year long reflection of personal exploration on the essence of tradition of the people of Tenganan Pagringsingan, a village in the East of Bali into a memoar book: Mata Jiwa, Into the Eye of Life.

 

Anton Muhajir is a journalist based in Bali for several national and international media, including Forbes Indonesia, Bloomberg, The New Yorker, The Australian, WIRED, and others. Active in media literacy communities and digital rights advocacy networks including BaleBengong.id and SAFEnet. He is also member of the MFW 4 Jury Board.

 

Ratna Odata is the founder of Cata Odata in 2014, an interdisciplinary art house in Bali. Occasionally she works as a set designer specializing in theater and dance performance.

 

 

Agung Yudha is a Balinese creator. He is wearing many hats as filmmaker, street photographer, and musician. Active musician in a rock band, MR HIT and also as a director in Studi Yo Films, Dread Team, and Manikamerta Documentary.

 

 

Faiza Muhamad is a freelance writer, storyteller and language professional based in Bali, Indonesia. Faiza is highly passionate about language and takes pleasure in providing her expertise in various forms of collaborations.
