Minikino Open December (EN)

Minikino Open December is a unique year-end short film festival. Closing the year, opening the door to local short filmmakers or filmmakers impersonating local, wherever the event is held.

Minikino Open December was first held in 2003. In that year it took place in 3 places at once; Irama Indah Denpasar – Bali on December 21, 2003, Oktagon Gallery Jakarta on December 21, 2003 and at QB Kemang Jakarta on December 17, 2003. (archived here)

The Minikino Open in December is still ongoing annually until now.

REGULATIONS TO PARTICIPATE:

1. SHORT IS A MUST

20 mins max – that’s including the title & credits. Any genres, styles, whatever! Total freedom of expression! As long as we can project your work onto the screen.

2. START FROM THE SHORTEST

Remember the old rule “the shorter one is better to stand in front” ?. A SHORTER FILM WILL SHIFT A FILM WITH LONGER DURATION. And the event only lasted 90 minutes. Meaning, the longer your duration, the less likely your film will to get a chance to be shown.

3. YOU HAVE TO BE THE RIGHTS OWNER OF THE FILM

You have to be present to register and presenting your film. The registration is open 1 hour before the event starts, and will closed 15 minutes before the event starts.

PLEASE NOTE

4. The most secure format is H264 compress, with mp4 container.

5. ONCE AGAIN: The event will last in 90 minutes only, this is including short presentation (no more than 2 minutes) at every beginning of the film.
