KORINCO 2026: STOP-MOTION WORKSHOP ANIMATION FOR CHILDREN
Unlocking KORINCO Season 4: “International Collaboration Workshop: Stop-Motion Animation from Indonesia, South Korea, and Colombia.”
Born in 2023 through a partnership between international short film festivals Minikino (Indonesia), SESIFF (South Korea), and BOGOSHORTS (Colombia), KORINCO is an annual stop-motion animation program that brings children aged 10 to 12 together across continents. International teams collaborate to turn cultural concepts into frame-by-frame animations, stitching their work into a single short film premiered across all three host nations.
Marking its fourth year, the program rolled out across the partner regions over the summer. The SESSIFF team in Seoul opened KORINCO: The First Stamps with a two-day intensive workshop on July 11–12, 2026, followed by BOGOSHORTS with their three-day workshop on July 18–20, 2026.
The journey concluded in Indonesia, through Minikino’s long-standing educational partnership with SDN 5 Dauh Puri, Denpasar. This edition engaged an entire 6th-grade class of 24 students and two educators in the initial creation process, with six student representatives carrying the torch through the subsequent intensive workshop days from July 24 to 26, 2026. Completed with joint post-production across the host festivals, KORINCO: THE FIRST STAMPS stands as a joyful testament to how hands-on storytelling and global friendship nurture empathetic, world-ready citizens.
Following this cross-continental collaboration, the completed stop-motion animated short film will premiere across the three host festivals:
- Minikino Film Week (MFW) – Bali, Indonesia: 11-18 September 2026
- Seoul Yeongdeungpo Extreme Short Image Film Festival (SESIFF) – Seoul, South Korea: 23-28 October 2026
- Bogota Short Film Festival (BOGOSHORTS) – Bogota, Colombia: 1-8 December 2026
