The display of women’s fear stereotyping in horror and slasher films expects them to remain afraid and helpless. Minikino is curious to offer an understanding of the director Amer brothers’ drive as directors in conveying a specific contemporary sense of Indonesia in the B movie style that had become their signature.

Amer Brothers is a combination of the names Azzam Fi Rullah and Putra Merdeka, they are the founders and the mind behind Kolong Sinema, a collective that focuses on B-class films, horror and any works that considered cheap.
About Fransiska Prihadi
FRANSISKA PRIHADI is an architect, co-founder of art-house cinema MASH Denpasar in Bali. She is Program Director of Minikino. She served as guest programmer & jury for various national and international short film festivals, with experience as facilitator and mentor for filmmaking and film festival writing workshops.
