Community Screening is how Minikino Film Week travels beyond the main venues and into spaces where people already gather.
Through this program, short films are shared in community spaces, cultural venues, campuses, and other corners of the city (and beyond). Each screening is hosted by partners who bring their own audience, energy, and way of gathering, making every event feel a little different, yet still connected as part of the festival.
Instead of asking audiences to come to us, Community Screening brings the films closer to them—creating a more relaxed and familiar way to experience short films together.
Minikino provides the curated film programs, while partners shape the moment around it. Sometimes it’s followed by a discussion, sometimes it’s just about sitting together and watching. Either way, it opens up space to share stories, exchange perspectives, and connect through cinema.
