Winner Wijaya is an Indonesian filmmaker. They like to make films since the fifth grade of elementary school because they were taught by their school teacher. Every weekend, together with their friends, they made movies with a MiniDV camcorder. They tried fun new things, painted the house walls green for chroma keying, wore ghost masks, made weird stories, and so on. Their short documentary “Ojek Lusi” was nominated for Piala Citra and won the best short documentary award in Festival Film Dokumenter 2017. In 2020, they won Minikino Best Begadang Filmmaking Competition for their directed film “Hey Guys Balik Lagi Sama Gue, Tuhan!” and were nominated for best short fiction film at Festival Film Indonesia 2020. At the moment, they are in the editing process for their first feature documentary.

 

ANNA FEISTEL

Germany

Anna Feistel is a programmer, curator and arts mediator based in Hamburg, Germany. Her passion for short films ignited many years ago organizing a student short film festival and working in a communal cinema. She worked as an art mediator for Art Basel, MKG Hamburg. Since 2016, she has worked in several positions at Kurzfilm Agentur Hamburg including the distribution department, festival administration and school cinema week. Since 2019, she is part of the international competition selection committee and the programme coordinator of Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg.

Yes, we will talk about short films while swimming (if the sea is calm) with the selected filmmakers. At the end of the session, the filmmakers will have access to a new network and hopefully fresh ideas that will inspire them to complete and distribute their films.

Clarissa is the writer, producer, and creator of the multi-award-winning comedy/horror short – Lunch Ladies (lunchladiesmovie.com). She also wrote the book “I Made A Short Film Now WTF Do I Do With It: a guide to film festivals, promotion, and surviving the ride” which was translated into Bahasa Indonesia by Minikino. Kelly Lui
Reel Asian
Kelly Lui is an arts worker with an interest in prioritizing care practices, interrogating sustainability within creative careers, and supporting socially-engaged multimedia projects. Besides her roles as the Shorts Programmer at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, Kelly also work as the distribution coordinator at Ouat Media, a Toronto-based distribution and sales company that specializes in short films.
Nosa Normanda
Mondiblanc Film Workshop
He’s an anthropologist, video journalist, producer and filmmaker. He founded a non-profit film workshop MondiBlanc in Jakarta, helping young Indonesian filmmakers to enter the professional world with reliable skills. Currently, he works as the head of video Asia at an American news agency, coordinating documentary production in five countries in Asia.
Rayner Wijaya
Hore Besok Libur!
Rayner Wijaya was born on 8 March 1997. He graduated from Prasetiya Mulya University in 2019 with a business major and it helped with his career as a producer. From 2018 until now Rayner has produced some commercials and shorts. Rayner and his sibling Winner Wijaya are currently establishing a production house named Hore Besok Libur! This cheerful name embodied our goal to make a funny and exciting films for everyone to enjoy.

This is a closed, in-person event.

HOW TO APPLY?

  • The filmmakers must have 1 short film (production year: 2023) with a maximum duration of 20 minutes (the rough cut stage is allowed) which will be dissected/discussed.
  • Register through minikino.org/fm_dissect from July 26th until August 7th, 2023 (23:59 UTC+8).  Three (3) selected films will be announced on August 16th, 2023.
  • Each selected group can be represented by a maximum of two (2) participants and the discussion will be conducted in Indonesian or English (when needed).

NOSA NORMANDA (MONDIBLANC FILM WORKSHOP)

An anthropologist, filmmaker, producer and lecturer, he once worked as a journalist in the United States of America and has made dozens of short films. In 2019, he founded Mondiblanc Film Workshop, a film, media and business workshop. This year, he will produce his first feature film. He has been the programmer for Indonesia Raja Jakarta since 2021.

RAYNER WIJAYA & WINNER WIJAYA (HORE BESOK LIBUR! FILMS)

They were both born into the same good family in Surabaya. They have enjoyed trying new and fun things, making films with MiniDV handycams since elementary school. Rayner often plays a pop actor in his older brother Winner’s films. His film, “Ojek Lusi”, won the best short documentary award at the 2017 Documentary Film Festival, was nominated for the 2018 Citra Cup, and has been screened at film festivals in more than 10 countries. In 2020, he received a Citra Cup nomination for his short film “Hi Guys, Back Again with Me, God!” and is currently in post-production on his first feature film, “Pak Greg from Wai Apo”.

FRANSISKA PRIHADI (Minikino Program Director)

Fransiska Prihadi is an architect and co-founder of the art-house cinema MASH Denpasar. She served as guest programmer, preselection committee & jury for various national and international short film festivals, with experience as facilitator and mentor for short film programming and film critics workshops.

CALL FOR FILM PROJECTS

Network and discuss your short film with your buddies of the day. Nothing beats the experience of having a film discussion by the beach! Representatives from the Mondiblanc Film Workshop (Nosa Normanda), Hore Besok Libur! (Winner Wijaya & Rayner Wijaya), Minikino’s programming director (Fransiska Prihadi), will be ‘buddies of the day’ to talk about three selected films. Yes, they will talk about short films while swimming (if the sea is calm) with the selected filmmakers.

This event is in-person, and the filmmakers can be represented by a maximum of two (2) participants. The filmmakers must have 1 short film (production year: 2022) with a maximum duration of 20 minutes (the rough cut stage is allowed), which will be dissected/discussed.

Although more elaborate, longer-hour follow-ups will be particularly needed after this workshop, this session will be particularly useful as a networking opportunity with the opportunity to discuss concrete short films with filmmakers, educators, film festival writers, and programmers.

It is flexible enough for a reflection or to plan ideas that will be conducted in four hours by a collective of BRAINSTORMERS from Mondiblanc Film Workshop (Nosa Normanda & Abdul Rozzaq Ariwahyono), Hore Besok Libur!, MFW7 programmers (Kadek Diana Pramesti & Fransiska Prihadi), guest programmers and writers.
