Growing up in the weird mainstreamyness of the 90s, his relationship with cinema has been complicated (albeit joyful) until he began studying art, music and media and came in contact with short film which in its aesthetic and formal diversity as well as its diy ethos reminded him immediately of what he loved about the music scenes he came from. Growing interested in questions of narrative perspectives, the contradictions of documentary approaches and essayist forms, he began working for different festivals before settling in Berlin where he is now, among other things, curator of the documentary competition. |
