We’re calling for short fiction scripts in development. This is your chance to receive direct, no-sugar-coating feedback from industry professionals. If you’re up for a creative challenge (and some tough love), this is the place.
WHAT TO SUBMIT
A recent draft of your short fiction script:

If the script isn’t in English, an English translation must be provided
WHO’S ELIGIBLE
To qualify, you must be a producer, director, or writer of a film that is part of MFW11 under one of the following categories:

ROAST YOUR SHORTS 2024
Four selected filmmakers will receive valuable feedback on their short film script drafts from MFW official panel of experienced filmmakers and industry professionals!
Per Fikse is the Director of Minimalen Short Film Festival in Trondheim, Norway, from 1999 to date, a festival he has programmed for since 1994. The festival had its 36th edition in January, screening 250 films over six days.
He holds a Master’s from NTNU. Made shorts, published film articles, and served in a number of film festival juries each year. Along with the festival management, he also works as a Software Development Manager in the private sector.

Masoud is an Iranian filmmaker, writer, and photographer with multiple award-winning short film works. He was a jury member for several international film festivals. His debut photography book, “Durian on my head,” was published in Iran and Indonesia. Presently, he is studying for his master’s in scriptwriting at Kinoeyes, a European joint master’s program.

Starting his filmmaking career in 2013 with campus campus-based filmmaker community in Yogyakarta, Muhammad Heri Fadli fell in love with the way films convey stories. He continues to pursue his passion in filmmaking. His previous shorts, ‘Jamal’ and ‘Blue Poetry,’ have been screened at several international film festivals such as Minikino Film Week, Sundance: Asia, Slamdance, Tampere Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, Toronto Reel Asian, Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival, Kaoshiung Film Festival, Bogoshorts, Show Me Shorts.

Priscilla Galvez is a Toronto-based director and producer. Her films have premiered at international film festivals including TIFF, DOC NYC, Fantastic Fest, and SXSW. Priscilla produced the feature film, ‘Islands’, directed by Martin Edralin, which was awarded a special jury prize for Best Breakthrough Performance at SXSW in 2021. She is the co-founder of the production company Silent Tower, producing award-winning digital series, shorts, and feature films. ‘A Fermenting Woman’ is Priscilla’s directorial debut short film.

Mary Grace Liew is a Malaysia-based film producer-director. She is renowned for her work with Foreground Pictures and is an alumna of the Creative Producer Lab for Full Circle Philippines 2022. Currently, she educates budding filmmakers as an assistant lecturer at her alma mater, Multimedia University. Her notable short film “Where Time Stood Still” (2022) won Best Short Film at MIFFEST and gained recognition at international festivals like Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2023, Minikino Film Week 9, and more.

A storyteller who comes from a small village on the island of Lombok, Wayang arts (puppet shadow) was the first cinema he watched. He started making films because he was following his friend when he was still in college. Instead, he fell in love and was trapped in films until today.
