Program’s Note
KAOHSIUNG SHORTS
To encourage the creation of short films, Kaohsiung Film Archive (KFA) presents Kaohsiung Shorts Short Film Grant Program. The program aims to break norms, boundaries, and clichés, emphasizing the innovation of short film aesthetics. It encourages talented filmmakers to reside in Kaohsiung, using the city as a creative and conceptual space for their works. There are no restrictions on the format or theme of the films, allowing creators to unleash their creativity and showcase local characteristics.
INTRODUCTION
Minikino’s collaboration with Kaohsiung began at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and has continued to grow since our participation in the 2023 market screening, supported by the Indonesia Ministry of Education and Culture. That moment also paved the way for Indonesian short films to reach audiences in Taiwan through the Kaohsiung International Film Festival. Over time, this institutional collaboration has strengthened, leading to this special program where Minikino brings a selection of Kaohsiung Film Archive’s short films to Indonesian audiences.

What should have been a relaxed and leisurely hike was led into the unknown by the adventurous spirit of M. Amid the summer afternoon air, there was a faint scent of restlessness lingering.

Kaohsiung Film Archive (KFA) is the first cultural base to specifically promote image and digital art in southern Taiwan and provide funds, production support and showcase opportunities to local and international filmmakers/VR creators. KFA also hosts the Kaohsiung Film Festival (KFF), which is the largest and most prestigious international short film platform in Taiwan. Serving as a bridge to connect Taiwanese talents with the global film industry.
