PRE-EVENTS 2022
MFW8 x SESIFF 14: Let’s Draw Cinema
Mengundang anak-anak di Denpasar untuk ikut lomba gambar anak-anak yang dilakukan serentak di Bali dan Seoul, program kolaborasi antara film festival Minikino Film Week (MFW) dan Seoul Yeongdeungpo Extreme Short Image Film Festival (SESIFF). Anak-anak serta wali akan bersama-sama menonton program film pendek (tiga film pendek Indonesia dan tiga film pendek dari Korea Selatan).
Peserta lomba akan mengambil inspirasi dari film-film yang mereka tonton dalam program tersebut dalam sebuah karya gambar. Lomba ini diadakan dengan harapan untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dan cara berpikir kritis dengan menginterpretasikan bahasa audio visual ke karya gambar yang ekspresif.
Seluruh peserta akan mendapatkan snack, minuman, dan juga sertifikat peserta. Satu (1) Pemenang di Bali akan mendapatkan hadiah sejumlah Rp 500.000 dan sertifikat pemenang yang ditentukan oleh juri dari SESIFF Korea Selatan. Tiga (3) Pemenang di Bali akan mendapatkan hadiah merchandise tas punggung Minikino.

BEGADANG FILMMAKING COMPETITION Begadang Filmmaking Competition adalah kompetisi produksi film pendek Nasional atau untuk pemegang paspor Indonesia di mana saja berada! Menantang kelompok produksi film pendek Indonesia yang sedang berada di mana saja, untuk menggarap sebuah proyek film pendek fiksi dengan ruang kreativitas seluas-luasnya. Namun dalam waktu terbatas hanya 34 jam.
Kompetisi ini adalah ajang uji soliditas tim kerja yang tahan banting dan siap bersaing! Sebuah pengalaman dunia nyata, bagaimana para profesional di industri film dan televisi bekerja! Mau coba?
BATAS WAKTU PRODUKSI SEBAGAI SYARAT Kompetisi Begadang Filmmaking adalah kompetisi yang unik. Pada waktu yang ditentukan, para peserta akan mendapatkan daftar elemen audio visual yang wajib jadi bagian dalam film. Peserta dituntut memproduksi film berdurasi maksimal 5 menit menggunakan elemen-elemen tersebut. Dan seluruh proses produksi dijalankan dan harus sudah diserahkan waktu 34 jam.
Selama 34 jam para, peserta melakukan seluruh proses produksi; mulai dari membangun cerita, merancang adegan, shooting dan merekam suara, kemudian proses editing dan finalisasi. Dan mengejar kualitas hasil semaksimal mungkin.

OVERVIEW
Minikino Hybrid Internship for Film Festival Writers 2 is a 6-month program starting in April 2022. The hybrid internship allows students aged 19-25 years old with a specific interest in film critique and film festival writing the opportunity to work on their perspective, deepen creative ambitions, and network with Indonesian and international filmmakers as well as professionals from the short film industry.
DATES: 1 April to 28 September 2022
IN-PERSON STAY IN BALI: 27 August to 12 September 2022 in Denpasar, Bali during Minikino Film Week, Bali International Short Film Festival 8th edition.
PROVISIONS for the selected participants:
- Basic transport & accommodation in Denpasar related to MFW8 (MASH Denpasar bunk bed, shared room).
- Simple cooking facilities are available.
- Per-diem for 16 days during MFW8.
- All other incidentals and personal expenses should be covered by the participants.
- Selected Participants are requested to get their own travel insurance.
- Selected Participants must be 19-25 years old, in good health, and have sufficient proficiency in English or Bahasa Indonesia language.

Film Programmer Canada Kelly Lui is an arts worker with an interest in prioritizing care practices, interrogating sustainability within creative careers, and supporting socially-engaged multimedia projects. Besides her roles as the Shorts Programmer at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and the Distribution Coordinator at Ouat Media, she’s a founding collective member of TACLA and loves noodles. LIISA HOLMMBERG
Film Commissioner Sámi people, Norway Liisa Holmberg works as the Film Commissioner, at the International Sámi Film Institute (ISFI), in Norway. She is a Sámi filmmaker who originally comes from the Finnish side of Saamiland. Since 1994, she has worked in the film business as a producer, production manager, and film consultant. The main part of her work as a Film Commissioner is to support Sámi and other Indigenous filmmakers in Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Sápmi, and Russia through Arctic Indigenous Film Fund (AIFF). During the years 2008-to 2017, Holmberg worked as the Rector of the Sámi Education Institute in Inari, Finland. The purpose of the Sámi Education Institute is to develop Sámi languages, cultures, and livelihoods. From 2016-to 2021, Holmberg was nominated as the Chair of the Assembly of the University of the Arctic (UArctic), a network of 203 Universities. JACKSON SEGARS
Filmmaker USA Jackson Kiyoshi Segars is a Japanese-American filmmaker and ecosocialist activist living in New York. As a co-founder at Video Horse Films, he has produced, directed, and edited work that has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as SXSW, Locarno International Film Festival, Palm Springs Shortsfest, Vimeo Staff Picks, and more. His film Kimchi won the Minikino Film Week Best Short Film of the Year award in 2018. He continues to make films in New York and advocate for a more equitable and just world. |

CLARISSA JACOBSON
Writer & Filmmaker Melbourne, Australia CLARISSA JACOBSON is the writer, producer, and creator of the multi-award-winning comedy/horror short – Lunch Ladies – based on her feature. The film has been in more than one hundred festivals including France’s Clermont-Ferrand, South Korea’s Bucheon Fantastic, Amsterdam’s Imagine Fest, and Palm Springs International. Not only has Lunch Ladies won forty-five competition awards, it secured top sales rep Ouat Media, and garnered international distribution from Canal+, Amazon’s Prime Video, Kanopy, ALTER, Argo, Dark Matter TV, Troma Now!, Barcelona TV3, and more. Clarissa also developed an extensive social media platform for the film, designed a website, (lunchladiesmovie.com), and wrote more than two hundred blogs. |

NOSA NORMANDA
Writer Indonesia Writer, Anthropologist, and Filmmaker. He is one of the founders of MondiBlanc Film Workshop, a scholarship-based film workshop. He has also been a film crew in the United States and an International Video Journalist at a US news agency. In 2020, Nosa was actively involved as a host at various events at Minikino Film Week 6, including the production of the Kopi Selem podcast at the festival. Now he focuses on teaching and developing the video and undercurrent film industry in Jakarta. ASAKO FUJIOKA
Head of Documentary Dream Center Japan Fujioka Asako has worked with Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival since 1993 as Coordinator, Director of the Tokyo Office, and now serves on the Board of Directors. As head of Documentary Dream Center, she began organizing film workshops in various Asian destinations in 2009 and launched the retreat program Yamagata Documentary Dojo in 2018. She supports Japanese film liaisons internationally and aims to foster documentaries, their makers, and audiences through international exchange. She is a producer of Nude at Heart (2021, dir: Okutani Yoichiro). |
