Workshop: Screenwriting for Dummies 2026

A 5-hour introductory screenwriting workshop designed for beginners and enthusiasts with no prior knowledge of screenwriting.

Conducted in English, the session offers a practical and accessible entry point into the fundamentals of storytelling for the screen, covering core concepts, creative thinking, and basic structure of Screenwriting, to turn your story into film script!

The workshop is facilitated by Annabella Schnabel and takes place in Denpasar, Bali, presented through a collaboration between Minikino and MASH Denpasar, both of which are committed to film education and community-based learning.

ABOUT ANNABELLA SCHNABEL

Annabella Schnabel is an international award-winning Hungarian film director and screenwriter. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Film Theory and History (ELTE) and Film Production (University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest), and a Master’s degree in Film Directing (University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest).

Her work blends drama with dark humor, exploring dysfunctional social structures, gender inequality, and the redefinition of female roles through a bold, often grotesque visual language.

Her filmography includes It’s a Match! (2018), Referral (2019), Mom’s Cat (2021), and The Triptych of the Keeper (2022). Mom’s Cat premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival and later screened at festivals such as Minikino Film Week, Melbourne IFF, Rhode Island, and Nashville, earning qualification for the 2023 Student Academy Awards longlist.

Alongside her filmmaking practice, Annabella has teaching experience in filmmaking and is a scholarship holder of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
