Ini adalah catatan perjalanan kami selama tinggal di New York (NY) dan bertemu teman-teman baru yang membantu hidup kami merasa lebih nyaman sebagai imigran. Lewat film-film ini pun kami merasakan pengalaman mereka dan kedekatan/keeratan komunitas film di NY. Mereka dan film-filmnya adalah salah satu kenangan yang paling manis yang kami jumpai.

An experimental documentation of a first date in New York, this film sat on the shelf for years before being brought out and re-examined. What was a first date blossomed into a connection that spanned 6 years and would become a strong tie to the idea of home. Starting at 42nd Street, Port Authority, the filmmaker travels up to El Museo del Barrio with her date, captured in 16mm film.

Inspired by Jonas Mekas’s essay, The Diary Film, this film raises a question of what a person is looking at out of the window. The three-act structure gradually reveals that the focus was drawn to the domestic life of the Asian neighborhood – a visual connection to the hometown.

Gambaran kehidupan setelah kematian melalui sudut pandang hantu rumah suburban yang ingin memperbaiki beberapa kesalahpahaman umum manusia tentang orang yang telah meninggal.
“Ghost Stories” is a glimpse at life after death through the lens of a suburban house ghost wanting to correct some of the many common misconceptions humans have about the deceased. The ghost was played by Kaila’s 12-year-old friend and neighbor Arlo Lanni and set in their hometown of Tappan, New York.

Tentang Programmer:
Ladya is an actor, writer, and director. When she is not acting or making a film, she explores her creative side through knitting, sewing, drawing, and collage. She enjoys doing something that feels therapeutic. Her engagement in cleaning 16mm at The NYC Film-Makers’ Cooperative opened another opportunity to be one of the curators for the New Work/New York Film Festival 2019.
Zeke is a film score composer. He started first as director. His three shorts went to Jakarta International Film Festival (JiFFest). In 2008 he won a Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) award as the best music arranger. He became a full-time composer. He uses dreams as starting point to write songs outside of scoring jobs. Similar to how he views movies, the dream has a significant role in revealing the inner of film.
